The State of Working Immigrants in Colorado
Typically, immigrants travel to Colorado to work in rural and resort areas. Many social and economic experts consider immigrant workers to be the economic backbone of resorts in Colorado, where they work in construction, fast-food businesses, hospitals, and janitorial services. In rural areas of Colorado, such as Fort Morgan on the Eastern Plains, most immigrants work on farms, in feedlots, and in meat-processing plants.
